As great as Bluetooth headsets are, they should not be worn while sleeping. They can damage the ear canal and should be taken out before slumber. Too many people are wearing their Bluetooth headsets as they fall asleep. This is a bad decision.
Still, it's understandable. They are getting so small that it's hard to recognize that they are even inside of your ear. Because of that you might accidentally fall into slumber with it still in there. You need to realize that it is important to always check for it before you allow yourself to go to sleep. You wouldn't sleep with a knife in your hand. While this is a bit different than that, you need to remind yourself that there are reasons not to sleep with it.

Let me tell you a story about a man who had a habit of falling asleep with his Bluetooth in. This story really doesn't highlight the practical dangers of sleeping with one of these, but it does show that there's an absurd danger out there that probably will never happen to you.
The man was sleeping with his Bluetooth snuggled into his ear. Before he had fallen asleep he had opened his window to feel the night's breeze. He had intentionally left the Bluetooth in because he was hoping to get a call from his lady friend. He had left a message on her machine begging for a third date and was pretty sure that she would say yes.
When she finally called he was very startled. It seems that he had forgotten that a call was coming. He jumped out of his bed and stumbled around the room. Then, he fell from the opened window. Luckily, he was only on the second story and there was soft ground beneath. This story could have ended much more tragically.
This is just one example of why it's important to make sure that you don't leave a microphone inside of your head while you are asleep. You never know when that microphone will start talking to you.
It's probably better that you get in the habit of taking out the Bluetooth throughout the day. If you always have it in your ear during the day then it would be more likely that you'd leave it in during the evening time. It'd be safer to just take it out and leave it out for large sections of day. That would help break up the time that it's inside of your head.
However you remind yourself to take it out just make sure that you do remind yourself to take it out. You don't want to be one of those people that have a damaged ear.
